The main criterion for being accepted at Spring Mount
is a clear diagnosis of a dementia, in a person of any
age. We are particularly keen to take in younger people
with dementia. We usually maintain a ratio of 50% over
65 and 50% under 65. They need to be mobile on admission
to get maximum benefit from our model of care.
Visiting
There are no visiting hours, visitors are welcome and
encouraged at any time. It is important that visiting
becomes a pleasurable part of your life and that you
do not feel pressurised to visit more than you are able
to easily manage. We want you to begin to feel at home
in Spring Mount and participate in any activities that
may be going on. Carers, who wish to, would always be
welcome on trips or excursions to accompany their relative.
We acknowledge that families will have had their own
routines and there is no reason for these to stop because
someone comes into care. We take on the daily practicalities
of caring and families can keep the pleasurable social
activities they have always enjoyed. This often has
the positive effect of nurturing and rebuilding relationships
that have suffered in the
caring process.
